日本の陸上鉱床の生成メカニズムの解明 Formation mechanism of onshore deposits in Japan
日本に数多く存在する、金銀、ベースメタル、レアメタル鉱床の成因を、元素マッピング分析、レニウム―オスミウム年代測定などを駆使して明らかにし、新たな鉱床生成モデルを構築します。By using elemental mapping analysis, rhenium-osmium dating, and other methods, I reveal the formation mechanisms of the numerous gold, silver, base metal, and rare metal deposits in Japan, and develop a new model for the formation of these deposits.
レアアース泥の生成年代の決定 Age determination of REY-rich mud
オスミウム同位体比層序年代と魚の歯の形態学的分析による生物層序年代を組み合わせた新しい年代決定手法を用いて、従来年代決定が困難と考えられてきたレアアース泥（遠洋性粘土）の生成年代を決定します。Using a new dating method that combines osmium isotope stratigraphy with biostratigraphy based on morphological analysis of fish teeth, I determine the age of REY-rich mud (pelagic brown clay), which was previously considered difficult.
レアアース泥の分布状況の解明 Clarifying REY-rich mud distribution
世界中の海の海底から採取された海底堆積物を用いて、鉱物学的分析、元素組成分析を行うことで、レアアースなどの元素濃度と鉱物組成を把握し、どの海域にどのような品位のレアアース泥が存在するのかを調査します。Using deep-sea sediments collected from the seafloor of oceans around the world, I conduct mineralogical analysis and elemental composition analysis to determine the concentration of elements such as rare earth elements and mineral composition, and to investigate distribution of REY-rich mud in the oceans around the world.
深海底堆積物に記録された過去の地球環境変動の解読 Decoding global environmental changes recorded in deep-sea sediments
元素組成分析データ、微化石（膠着質底生有孔虫）や魚類の歯の個体数分析データ、同位体分析（オスミウム、ハフニウム、など）データを、年代のデータとともに統合することで、深海底堆積物に記録された過去の地球環境変動を明らかにします。By integrating elemental composition data, microfossil (agglutinate foraminifera) and fish tooth abundance data, and isotope (osmium, hafnium, etc.) data, along with age data, I can reveal past global environmental changes recorded in deep-sea sediments.
レアアース泥の生成メカニズムの解明 Revealing formation mechanism of REY-rich mud
レアアース泥の元素濃度データ、鉱物学的特徴、同位体分析データなどの情報を、レアアース泥の生成年代からわかる当時の地球環境と照らし合わせることで、レアアース泥の生成と地球環境変動の関連性を明らかにします。Based on information on the elemental composition, mineralogical characteristics, and isotopic analysis data of the REY-rich mud, and the global environment at the time of its formation, which can be determined from the age of the mud, I investigate the relationship between the formation of REY-rich mud and global environmental changes.
